They are currently trying to build their fan base and have a goal of reaching 50 followers by the end of the year. They plan on doing an awesome giveaway once they reach that goal so that is where all of you come in… if you get my drift.
Now, I’ve had several people send me pictures or comment on one of the totally awesome hats that Cat has designed. It is the “Big Blue” hat, which is the mascot for USU.
When I first saw this hat I thought it was complete brilliance and wished that I had thought of doing something like that… but then I remember I didn’t really pick up crocheting until I was gone and away from the blessed USU, so it didn’t even cross my mind. But I LOVE it! She’s recently come up with a BYU Cougar hat too.
She has tons of other amazing designs as well. Like her Sock Monkey Hat.
We have a pattern exchange going on so we can make sure there aren’t typos and they read well, etc. She sent me her sock monkey hat pattern, which may seem pricey at first glance, but it includes 3 hats sizes, 2 different sizes of ear flaps, 6 different mouths, and a few other ideas so you can really make it your own.
Well, I haven’t gotten around to making an actual sock monkey hat yet, but I have used the pattern. The ears from the custom Teddy Bear hat I made came from the pattern, as well as the nose. It was one of the mouth patterns done in all black and flipped upside down.
Cat and Heidi have been working hard on putting up tips for crocheters and all sorts of other things, so if you’re interested head over and check it out.
