A Season For Hats

Business has picked up now that Fall and Winter are knocking on our doors.

I recently updated my patterns and have several more available for sale so I’ve actually been able to raise quite a bit of money due to pattern sales.

My hat orders started up with an order from a local friend’s mother-in-law. She has a couple new grandchildren so she purchased some hats for them. One boy (the earflap hat) and one girl (the shell stitch hat). The shell-stitch hat turned out completely adorable and I kind of lusted after it. 🙂

The next order I received was from an Air Force friend now stationed in Ohio. She has several friends with little ones due so she ordered 3 hats for baby gifts.

Also, recently I participated in a 5,000 fan giveaway for Playin’ Hooky Designs and increased my fan base on facebook significantly. I had around 30 “likes” before participating and now have over 650. Most of the pattern sales have come from there as well.

The prize that I provided for the giveaway was the winner’s choice of one Holiday hat. The winner chose a little Frankie hat. She has a grandson due the beginning of October.

Another order was for two pumpkin hats. Newborn size and toddler.

And the last order of the day comes from a High School friend who does photography. I’ve recently started providing a 40% discount to photographers for the use of the photos they take that include my hats and such. My friend purchased 3 hats for her kids and the pictures she has taken so far are adorable. I’m really excited about them.

Currently, the status on my goal to raise money for the tandem bike for UFB is 1/3 of the way there! Hopefully by the time Spring rolls around again I’ll have enough for two!
