While I was visiting my family last month my younger sister asked if I could teach her to crochet. She wanted to make a newsboy cap for her friend’s birthday present.
I happily obliged, but after the first “lesson” she decided that I had better make the hat or it wouldn’t get done until way too late.
A while back I found this awesome pattern for a sun-ray slouch hat. I had tried making it according to the pattern previously but wasn’t too successful. I wanted to try again, so I sent a picture to my sister. She said she loved it, but didn’t think that an all yellow hat would look good on her friend because she has such light blonde hair.
And so I decided I’d change up the pattern a bit and make it with two colors. I had to tweak the pattern so that I could use two colors, added a couple extra rows to get it big enough, and then I added a brim.
I love how it turned out, and thankfully, so did my sister’s friend!
